Job Company: University of Pennsylvania
A biologist with bioinformatics / computer programming experience or a computer scientist with bioinformatics / biology experience to join a large team working on highly visible web resources for malaria and related diseases (EuPathDB.org). The Application Developer will interface with scientists to acquire data (e.g. genomic, functional genomic, systems biology and clinical studies) and build tools to load these data into a relational database, integrating these data with existing omics data. This position is to assist a highly productive lab to analyze cutting edge genomic data relevant to metabolic disease. Specifically, studying mechanisms by which nuclear receptors link the regulation of gene transcription to metabolism. A candidate applying for this position should have a strong background in computer science or bioinformatics and an interest in biomedical research. [More]
Leveraging experience with the integration and analysis of pathogen genomics and functional data, we seek to fill new positions, as we expand to support clinical and epidemiological data-mining, by incorporating global projects (such as Mal-ED) that focus on the interplay between early child-hood malnutrition and the enteric infectious disease burden in developing countries.
