The Bioinformatics core facility is seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician to assist and support scientists with multiple ongoing genomics, proteomics and metabolomics analyses, including data processing, visualization, and interpretation of results. A prerequisite for this position is to have a strong background in genomics and molecular genetics with a proven track record in the form of peer-reviewed publications. A bioinformatics specialist must be able to use current bioinformatic tools and have an in depth knowledge of advanced sequencing and array-based technologies. The Bioinformatics Core at Purdue supports and catalyzes significant biological research efforts across the university. Perform routine and project specific data analyses including, but not limited to, RNA-Seq and ChIP-Seq analyses, metagenomics/metatranscriptomics analysis, SNP prediction and identification and de novo assembly, mapping and annotation of sequence data using various software packages. Use scripting languages to manipulate the data files. Interact with other 'omics' centers, Cyber Center and Statistical Consulting Center to provide relevant services to the campus research community.
