Job Skills: Next Generation Sequencing
Bioinformatics/Genetic Epidemiologist/Statistical Geneticist-Clinical Research Associate Tufts Medical Center, Ophthalmic Epidemiology and Genetics Service, seeks to identify an outstanding postdoctoral PhD Research Associate or entry level academic position with possible career advancement: for statistical genomic analyses including next generation sequencing for gene discovery, meta-analyses, and genetic database management, and to develop and participate in epigenetic and gene expression studies. The analyses will focus on large-scale data and discovery of associations between common and rare genetic variants and human disease, as well as associations between these genetic variants and other phenotypes or progression of disease, response to treatments. Goals of the position are to provide the core genetic, biostatistical and computational resource for the service and collaborators to conduct analysis of large-scale genomic sequencing and genotype data, to address new and emerging questions in the field of epigenetics, and to provide support for team-based research projects ongoing in the lab. Individual expertise will be fostered and encouraged through travel to scientific meetings, publications in peer reviewed journals, oral presentations, and growth in the academic environment. Major Responsibilities: Lead a project on data analysis involving next generation sequencing and gene discovery as well as gene-environment and genetic-epidemiologic association and longitudinal studies, develop new studies on DNA methylation, gene expression and gene mutation analyses. Develop and evaluate statistical/computational solutions to manage data Develop or acquire new computational tools for data analysis Interface and actively collaborate with other researchers, including external and academic partners Actively participate in supporting group members research projects/ cross functional teams [More]
