The Future Talent Program features internships that last 10-12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in the MRL Department of Genetics and Pharmacogenomics can provide you with a great development opportunity and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

The projects that you work in can be in one of the following areas:

Genetics:

- Participate in the analysis of genetics data to facilitate discovery of novel genetics targets.

- Work within an integrated team supporting the current Merck pipeline, including bioinformatics and sequencing efforts.

Systems Immuno Oncology :

- Analysis, implementation and visualization of network and graph algorithms for the study of interactions among disease-relevant biological networks

- Data mining of large internal and external databases of molecular modalities for therapeutic discovery, disease stratification, and biomarkers for disease progression.

Target & Pathway Biology:

- Apply cellular and genomic technologies towards the functional validation of genetic targets and pathways.

- Evaluate cutting-edge systems-level technologies for target discovery and validation.

Discovery Pharmacogenomics:

- Participate in the design and execution of genomics experiments to discover novel mechanisms of action for Merck compounds.

- Work within an integrated team supporting the current Merck pipeline, including bioinformatics and sequencing efforts.

Locations: Genetics (Boston, MA); Systems Immuno Oncology Analytics (West Point, PA); Discovery Pharmacogenomics (Kenilworth, NJ; West Point PA); Target & Pathway Biology (Boston, MA).

Qualifications:

Education:

* Required: Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Biology, Computational Biology, Genetics, or any Biological Science related majors.

Required Experience:

* Available for 10 week internship beginning June 2017

* Returning to school in Fall 2017

Preferred Experience:

* Superior Communication and Interpersonal Skills.

* Excellent Academic Achievement, Analytical Ability.

* Good team player and ability to work independently.
