Job Description:
The Biology Department of Westfield State University seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track position in bioinformatics/quantitative biology beginning fall 2018. The successful candidate will be a broadly trained biologist with outstanding teaching skills specific to undergraduate students. Duties will include teaching introductory- and upper-level courses in bioinformatics and/or quantitative biology in addition to introductory courses for biology majors. The candidate is also expected to lead research involving undergraduate students. Ability to work in a collegial environment and service (committee work, etc) to department and university also expected.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. (or equivalent) in bioinformatics/quantitative biology; ABD considered if doctorate is completed by September 1, 2018.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bioinformatics and/or quantitative biology teaching experience at the post-secondary level and/or postdoctoral research experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2017 and continue until finalists have been selected.
