Job Description:
They are looking to recruit an outstanding bioinformatician to join their Bioinformatics team. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of laboratory scientists, computational biologists, and software developers. Using your computational and biological understanding, you will assist the discovery teams with data analysis and optimal lead candidate selection methods using our novel platform. In addition, you will have a role in the continuing bioinformatic development of the novel platform. Using the large datasets continually being generated by the client, you will develop novel algorithms, analytical tools, and pipelines to incorporate into the software platform. You will have the opportunity to analyse large data sets and influence the development of the company’s technology strategy moving forwards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run analysis pipelines, and perform data QC

• Analyse and visualise large antibody datasets to inform lead candidate selection

• Develop and refine NGS analysis pipelines and antibody repertoire analysis tools

• Develop in-silico methods for analysing antibody sequence and assay data

• Implement tools developed into the novel software package

• Present results at internal company meetings

• Come up with ideas to test and further develop the company’s technology strategy moving forwards

Key Requirements:

Essential:

• PhD or equivalent degree in immunology, computational biology, bioinformatics, or similar discipline

• Hands-on experience of NGS technologies, tools and processing pipelines

• Knowledge of immunology with an understanding of B cell biology

• Demonstrated ability to develop bioinformatic tools

• Proficiency in the use of R, python and bash scripting

• Experience in the use of relational databases

• Ability to contribute independently and collaboratively and to excel in a fast-paced environment

• Strong track-record of scientific achievement

Preferred:

• Experience with antibody repertoire sequence analysis, or antibody discovery

• Experience with machine learning

• Experience with software development using scrum

• Proficiency in the use of KNIME

• Proficiency in the use of Java

• Proficiency in the use of RShiny
