Job Description:
The purpose of this role is to solve scientific problems and transfer knowledge between laboratory and clinical studies to improve our preclinical pipeline and ultimately treatment efficacy for patients.

Alongside experimental design and implementation of high-throughput computational analyses, the successful candidate will work closely throughout the wide scope of the Translational Sciences group and alongside other internal departments. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is interested in supporting the development of novel biological technologies to aid patients. The successful candidate will work with a range of data sources including patient and in house derived data to facilitate and drive the translational research functions of the company.

The position will analyze internal clinical sample datasets along with public databases to discover biomarkers predictive of response or failure to SPEAR T cell therapy, and inform on key resistance mechanisms for combination therapies selection. Candidate will be expected to apply and compare various published gene expression signatures (for example, IO resistance signatures, tumor and immune cell signatures etc.) and build novel signatures of response or resistance to SPEAR T cell therapy. This hands on role will apply computer programming methodologies, statistics, and mathematics to analyze and interpret biological data.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

* PhD or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar.

* Programming experience, with experience in data mining (e.g. Python, R, Matlab).

* Experience in NGS

* Experience with commercial software computational/analytical packages (e.g. Pipeline lifecycle tools)

Additional Info:
Adaptimmune, a leader in T-cell therapy, is a multinational, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel immunotherapies using its proprietary SPEAR T-cell receptor platform to treat solid tumors, which has the potential to transform the treatment of cancer.

Our proprietary SPEAR T-cell platform has generated a strong pipeline of affinity-enhanced T-cell therapies, with multiple INDs open. We use these therapies to harness the body's own immune system to find and destroy diseased cells. Our SPEAR TCR therapies offer promise to patients that often have no other options. We are working hard to make that promise a reality.

We are based in the UK, in Oxford, and in the US, in Philadelphia. For more information about Adaptimmune, please visit www.adaptimmune.com. If interested in joining our fast growing team, click on the careers tab of this page.
