Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist to play a crucial role in new research on cancer ex-vivo tumor modeling and personalized medicine with the Integrative Immuno-Oncology Center (IIOC) at Mitra Biotech. We are aiming to characterize the effect of immunotherapy on human tumor tissue that have been exposed to drug using our ex-vivo human tumor model platform to define – at high-resolution across global populations – the important events which are driving response and resistance to immunotherapies. Our research will ultimately have an impact on the clinical treatment of cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the R&D and immuno-oncology scientific teams to bridge bioinformatic or data science expertise to a growing number of projects.

• Analyze RNA transcriptomics by Nanostring and RNA Seq, interrogate high-dimensional flow and mass cytometry, integrate quantitative pathology and other next generation approaches.

• Derive signatures, patterns, mechanisms and other biological phenomena that associate to therapy response across dozens of solid tumor types and in response to dozens of drug regimens and combinations.

• Collaborate with global specialists in tumor biology, molecular pathology, cancer biologists and other clinical leaders with decades of experience in tumor heterogeneity, cell plasticity and evolutionary biology, and who are already exploring these data.

• Contribute to our rapid pursuit of high-impact scientific manuscripts, which seek to discover new targets and biomarkers of response and resistance in cancer immunotherapy, a growing yet poorly understood field of cancer medicine.

Qualifications :

• PhD with 5 years’ experience in bioinformatics, medical informatics, quantitative biology, or a related field

• A high level of biological and statistical data analysis skills, using programs such as MATLAB, R, Fastq, nSolver, ClustVis

• Expertise in multi-omic analysis approaches (metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics etc.)

• To be able to create and maintain databases to keep track of data, analyses and projects

• Oncology/Immunology background or related experience is required

• Image data analysis for large datasets

• Prior experience working in a data-rich biomedical environment

• Experience of developing software for scientific research e.g. for data mining

• Strong software engineering and/or programming skills e.g. Java

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral

• Friendly, collaborative mindset, ability to multi-task and to work effectively in an international environment

• Proactivity, and high motivation to work in one of the fastest-moving and future-oriented areas of biomedicine

Position Requirements:
