Job Description:
The Quantitative Biology Center at the University of Tübingen is looking for a Bioinformatician to develop and employ computational workflows to process, analyze and interpret clinical and preclinical omics data. QBiC is involved in several collaborative projects with leading oncology research groups from the local university hospital. These collaborations will be further strengthened in the near future. The established infrastructure will be used to focus and adapt existing data processing pipelines to generate new insights from the integration of (multi-) omics data in clinical and preclinical oncology studies. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in bioinformatics or computer science. Previous experience in data science methods for interpreting omics data is required. The ideal candidate brings significant experience with the analysis of at least one of the major data types (next generation sequencing (NGS), mass spectrometry (MS)). Furthermore, the candidate should be familiar with several scripting and programming languages. Experience in cancer biology and biological signalling networks will be a benefit. The employment (TVL E13, 100%, 3 years) will be arranged by the administration of the University of Tübingen. The starting date is December 1st 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
