Job Description:
Axle Informatics is looking for a Bioinformatics Analyst/Developer to work in a high-performing, fast-paced informatics company that offers innovative services to one of the top medical research centers in the world, the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Utilize experience in front and back end technologies to build software to support ongoing NIH projects
  • Work with scientists to develop computational methods and tools to support new assay and implement data analyses
  • Design, build and maintain databases that support biotechnology research and data-flow applications to streamline and automate collection of new data into data repositories.
  • Develop and execute software unit and test cases to test system functionality, performance, security and scalability.
  • Work with scientists to develop computational methods and tools to support new assay and implement data analyses
  • Maintains data analysis pipelines, monitors quality metrics and analyzes data sets
  • Perform testing using various methods to detect bugs in new and existing code

Requirements:
  • Masters in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or related field
  • Demonstrated and related experience within the field of Bioinformatics
  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm and initiative on a daily basis.
Preferred Skills:
  • Programming skills in C++/C. SQL, Perl, Python or related
  • Knowledge of e2e/unit testing and Jasmine
  • Experience working with various Bioinformatics tools such as Biotyper, 3D printing
  • Knowledge of statistical software such as R, MatLab
  • Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Angular.js and Node.js, HTML CSS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
