We are currently seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Job Description: •Apply available bioinformatic analytic techniques to ClinSeq and rare disease exome data to identify gene-phenotype associations. •Develop novel bioinformatic techniques for ClinSeq and rare disease exome data. •Perform analyses of genome and exome data from TAGC. •Prepare sequencing datasets for dbGAP submission. •Prepare first author publications describing novel bioinformatic techniques. •Collaborate with CSER and other consortium bioinformaticians to analyze and publish consortia-wide analytic projects. •Train summer bioinformatics students. Required: •Ph.D. degree in a related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. •Minimum five (5) years of experience in a related field. •Strong communications skills, both oral and written. •Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
