Progenity invites applications for an exciting Bioinformatics position at our R&D facilities located in Ann Arbor, MI, near the University of Michigan. We seek a bioinformatician/data scientist who is adept at developing computational algorithms that model and classify features in genetic data. Applicants should have a desire to work at the cutting-edge of the genetic testing industry, and seek to expand their skill-set in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. As a result of our successes in developing quality molecular diagnostic products, Progenity is rapidly expanding and looking to fill this position immediately to augment our development capabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Developing new algorithms to address complex questions in data analysis. -Employing computational models that maximize accuracy of assays. -Performing data analysis in support of R&D activities. -Communicating effectively with researchers to define required solutions. -Appropriate documentation and QC of development activities.

Position Requirements:
Education: Advanced degree holder: M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.). Work Experience: -Bioinformatics scientist, data scientist, software engineer, algorithm developer. -Strong background in statistics and mathematics. -Solid background in software development on a Linux system. -High programming proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl) and a compiled language (C, C++, C#). -Basic knowledge of high-throughput sequencing and genetic testing preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: -Strong communication skills. -Ability to solve practical problems in data analysis and interpretation -Must be a detail-oriented self-starter who can organize and prioritize workloads.Requeriments :
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Bioinformatics
