Cloud Support Engineer (AWS)

Job Description:
We are looking for an outstanding Cloud Support Engineer (AWS) to join the Bioinformatics Software Architecture and Engineering team to help solve the exciting technical problems in the areas of Genomics, Bioinformatics, and Next-generation Sequence Analysis. You'll be joining a diverse multi-cultural team of data scientists and software engineers that develops robust digital solutions and builds state of art cloud data infrastructure for the enterprise. Our team members are located in Iowa, Indiana, California and India.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will partner with architects and engineers working as an Agile team to deploy solutions on AWS
• You will manage and properly document support issues related to the applications owned by the team
• You will monitor alerts for OS, storage, application and infrastructure to keep track of problems proactively
• You will create and modify as needed CloudFormation templates to reliably deploy applications
• You will build a detailed understanding of the AWS implementation within the organization (technologies, policies, procedures) and guide the developers and architects
• You will lead data/service migration projects
• You will actively monitor and manage costsYou will research, recommend, and follow best practices for AWS-based solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a DevOps role2+ years of experience in deploying applications on AWS
• Understanding of IP Networking/CIDR blocks etc. within AWS VPC
• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills
• Attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certification – Developer / DevOps Engineer
• Experience with web delivered software using AngularJS, Bootstrap
