Genomics Working Group of the Italian Alliance Against Cancer (ACC) network of Research Hospitals, based at IEO Milan
The Genomics working group of the Alleanza contro il Cancro (Alliance Against Cancer, ACC) national network of Research Hospitals is seeking a motivated bioinformatician for the position of Coordinator of Bioinformatics based at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan.
ACC (www.alleanzacontroilcancro.it/en/) is the largest oncology network in Italy with 25 Research Hospitals and other participating institutions, coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Health and devoted to the implementation of a national program of Personalized Oncology. Activities are conducted under the framework of 7 disease-oriented working groups (WG breast, glioblastoma, colon, melanoma, lung, sarcoma, hemathological neoplasms) and 3 cross-disciplinary WG (Genomics and Bioinformatics , Immuno-Oncology, Pathology and Biobanking). Specifically, the aim of the ACC Genomics and Bioinformatics WG is to foster the integration of high throughput next generation sequencing in clinical diagnostic workflows, with a particular focus on identifying innovative methodologies that maximize clinically relevant information and provide genomics data interpretation.

ACC Genomics is seeking a coordinator of bioinformatics, expected to supervise a small team of computational biologists fully committed to the activities of the WG and to coordinate at the national level the activities of the ACC network of bioinformaticians, composed of members from each of the participating institutions. Short-term goals for the bioinformatics group are the implementation, optimization and research on novel pipelines for data analysis in ongoing trials and the development a centralized infrastructure for the collection, analysis and integration of genomic and clinical data. The candidate should have a PhD in a relevant discipline (such as but not limited to biology, physics, mathematics, statistics, medicine, engineering) and >3 years experience on cancer genomics.[Click Here to Access the Original Job Post]
