Job Description:
The University of Nevada, Reno department of Research and Innovation is recruiting for a Director, Bioinformatics. This position directs the Bioinformatics/Biostatistics service core at the University of Nevada, Reno. The Director manages and joins analysts and brokers collaborations among faculty with the goal of providing researchers and students at the University of Nevada, Reno with biostatistics and bioinformatics support for research projects, grant pre-proposals, and manuscript writing. Other duties include faculty support, curriculum and training and management/administration.

Required Qualifications: Doctorate Degree in the fields of biological and/or computational sciences and managerial experience.

Relevant Experience: bioinformatics and/or biostatistics

Preferred Qualifications:Proposal writing experience; teaching experience

Compensation Grade: C

Department Information

The University of Nevada, Reno operates three core facilities, which provide services in Bioinformatics, Proteomics and Genomics. These facilities synergize extensively and report to the Office of Research & Innovation (R&I). R&I is a service organization that focuses on enhancing the research enterprise by supporting collaboration and innovation. We provide faculty with the resources needed to reach their goals of educating, conducting research and contributing to the region’s economic development. As part of these resources, R&I manages the support organizations that assist faculty in obtaining funding, conducting research and building connections with industry.
