Job Description:
The Director, Translational and Precision Medicine will be a visionary product strategist who will have accountability for growing our translational and precision medicine business in our healthcare group. This leader will have strong domain knowledge in genomics, bioinformatics, biomedical informatics and its application to clinical care

He/she will ensure that the Oracle Health Sciences translational and precision medicine best-in-class solutions services the current client base as well as new clients and prospects. The ideal candidate will be a true product evangelist with extensive experience in translational research. He/she will create passion and excitement for the Oracle solutions and be a product/industry thought leader. This individual will be able to clearly discuss and communicate solution value and benefits to internal stakeholders, as well as customers, prospects, and partners.

Critical Success Factors:

-Strong leadership and executive presence in order to evangelize the product capabilities and value propositions to internal and external audiences including those customers at the C suite

-Act as a subject matter expert on translational and precision medicine and an evangelist of benefits this important new areas brings to life science and healthcare

-Develop long term roadmaps that are tightly aligned to customer needs, demonstrate Oracle’s depth in this space and understanding of how it is evolving

-Excellent influencing and collaboration skills to develop and deploy successful solutions by working with all departments and stakeholders to drive business growth

-Keen business sense to assess and prioritize tradeoffs that affect features, schedule, budget and market positioning

Responsibilities:

-Candidate will be required to further develop the HSGBU precision medicine strategy and business case in collaboration with our strategic development partners and act as an interface to the development teams to ensure rapid translation into products.

-Work with Sales and Account Management teams to win new clients and retain existing clients with high satisfaction.

-Working with Marketing group, develop product marketing materials and position Oracle’s solutions to ensure they resonate in market

-Working with Alliances, develop partner strategy that helps grow our business

-Lead cross-functional, multi-cultural and geographically diverse teams in the delivery of new and enhanced software solutions serving the translational/precision medicine market

-Normalize and prioritize market requirements from all stakeholders; including clients, sales, product strategy, engineering, consulting, services, support, marketing, business operations, and legal.

-Ensure regular updates to the product roadmap and constantly analyze new product requirements/opportunities.

-Candidate should be at ease presenting to the C Suite and undertaking thought leadership activities to raise awareness of HSGBU activities in translational and precision medicine

Requirements/Qualifications:

-MSc required, ideally PhD (or MD) in bioinformatics, biomedical informatics or related disciplines with a deep understanding of the broader healthcare area

-The individual must have demonstrated exceptional performance in a role that requires in depth knowledge of translational/precision medicine and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience.

-In depth bioinformatics, genomics, biomedical informatics, translational research, precision medicine knowledge an absolute must.

-Detailed understanding of the market and solutions in this space

-Ability to successfully collaborate internally with professionals in the marketing, business development, sales, engineering, product management and finance groups to lever the respective strengths and assets of the company to achieve business objectives.

-Demonstrated experience working with broad cross-functional teams with ability to sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, customers, analysts, and partners.

-Excellent oral and written communication skills and group presentation skills

-Must be able to effectively maintain/build relationship across business groups.

-Ability and willingness to travel
