GNS Healthcare is the leader in health data analytics. The company has built and maintains a suite of machine learning capabilities hosted in the cloud for applications in the pharmaceutical, care delivery, and managed care domains. Over the course of completing >100 collaborations and investing millions of dollars into its development, GNS operates one of the most powerful health informatics platforms on earth, and is defining the delivery of actionable data-driven insights to clients in the life sciences.

The company is expanding its offerings to include a suite of technology products made directly available to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and managed care clients. These clients would gain access the same proprietary tools and techniques GNS uses for building causal inference networks.

To enable the process of building out this product suite, a talented technical team member (you!) is need to support the definition, creation, and rollout of the product offering in conjunction with other supporting team members.

We are looking for an energetic and creative team member with exceptional communication skills and a similarly strong background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.

You would be responsible for supporting both internal and external stakeholders in the development of technical materials, documentation, and training workshops while acting as a scientific liaison for GNS’ clientele.

Your work may also involve the creation of demonstration predictive or causal models using GNS’s proprietary tools, with responsibilities including data curation, ETL, statistical analyses, interpretation, report- and publication-writing, case-study creation.

This position will officially report to the VP of Product Strategy with support from peer groups in the Precision Medicine and Health Economics modeling teams.

The position is based in Cambridge MA and may require 10% travel.

You are:
An experienced and strong communicator and educator – having either served or assisted in teaching roles and preparation of instructional materials (e.g. technical presentations, software documentation, or white papers).

Experienced with statistical inference and machine learning. Experienced with multivariate linear and GLM modeling. Bayesian inference, a plus.

Experienced manipulating large datasets in R, Matlab, or Python (R a strong plus). Familiarity with efficiency considerations.

Interest in pushing the envelope in terms of computational technology and innovation.

Basic understanding of molecular biology, pharmacology, medicine, or the pharmaceutical R&D process not required but this is a plus.

Requirements:
Ph.D. with 1-3 years of experience or strong recent graduate, with concentration in life sciences, mathematics, physics/biophysics, statistics/biostatistics, bioinformatics, or computer science

Strong MS-level candidates will be considered.

Knowledge of one of the statistical programming languages. Experience with R and Bioconductor preferred.

Familiarity with the UNIX and cluster computing environment such as Amazon Web Services preferred

Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills.

Must take a short statistical screening test or request a waiver based on strong background in which case you will be asked to speak through the test concepts over the phone.
