Job Description Senior Informatics ScientistMy biotech client seeks an Informatician to support their drug development initiatives -- the ideal candidate will take on the following tasks: Perform scientific systems analysis, data modeling, ETL functions, systems support and related activities for Translational and Clinical Informatics systems. Use therapeutic knowledge to provide support across drug development projects, with a focus on translational and clinical development teams. Drive the delivery of processes, tools, and approaches to manage drug project information and knowledge, raising the awareness of scientists on optimal information management and utilization methods and train them in relevant informatics tools. Engage and assist in integrative informatics activities and improve data workflows. Act as a key resource for evaluating and implementing new and existing data systems. Support data mining activities through the design and delivery of novel tools and techniques, as well as collaborate with the business by providing expert scientific analysis. Document and train staff in clinical & translational informatics tools, guidelines, and best practices. Assist and support the integration of R&D informatics systems in multiple disease areas to maximize speed to clinic. Coordinate complex scientific and informatics solutions in individual drug projects and work effectively with external experts and collaborative groups to promote optimal informatics use, scientific analysis and optimal utilization of data, information and knowledge. Requirements: PhD plus 5+ years industry experience Proven record in delivering Informatics approaches, skills, and tools to drug projects and scientists Thorough knowledge and experience in bioscience, bio-pharmaceutical, medicine or another clinical field plus cross-disciplinary training in computer science or Informatics, and substantial experience in the Pharmaceutical industry working in Informatics. Solid knowledge of informatics tools and their application in Clinical and Translational science In-depth knowledge and experience in the development, support and analysis of scientific and clinical data systems. Direct experience and understanding of the drug development process, and clinical and exploratory data associated with clinical trials and related analysis from both the translational and clinical perspectives. Direct experience in the development, deployment, and maintenance of large scale biological databases and related activities. First hand experience in the interpretation and analysis of large, complex clinical and pre-clinical datasets. Demonstrated successful experience working on complex, cross-functional project teams.
