SC3 is currently looking for a Senior UI Software Engineer on a 135+ FTE program as a part of a dynamic team conducting technical operations in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a quick learner and able to work independently while collaborating with team members and external components in a complex environment. Responsibilities may include: -Developing web application UI/UX front-end interfaces using JavaScript, Ruby on Rails/Sinatra, AngularJS, GitHub, and similar/related technologies on a Linux/Mac OS X environment. -Leading, designing, and writing production ready UI code and unit tests that meet software technical and business requirements in an Agile/DevOps environment. -Independently designing new and better UI/UX, writing clean code, and building applications rapidly. -Supervising junior developers. -Providing extensive knowledge and understanding of browsers and their differences as well as CLI. -Identifying concerns and quickly developing a resolution. -Demonstrating UI design skills with a strong portfolio. -Sharing creative visual design skills and awareness of current UI trends, technologies, and techniques. Qualifications: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: M.A, or M.S. from an accredited college or university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in Biomedical Science, Computer Science, Biotechnology, or Bioinformatics or six (6) years of experience in lieu of a degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Four (4) years of relevant software development experience as a front end developer developing applications using JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS on a Mac OSX or Linux environment including one (1) year of experience in a leadership capacity. -CLI in Linux -JavaScript -RESTful -Ajax -CSS -SASS DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: -Ruby -Non-relational databases such as MongoDB -Biological sequencing machines and other clinical and basic science technologies -Python -Photoshop -Illustrator
