Job Description:
Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Epidemiology (BBE) at Fred Hutch is seeking a Statistical Programmer. The Chen Research Lab Group is seeking a full time programmer to provide their teams with programming support for the projects: ‘Predicting PrEP Uptake And Adherence Among Adolescent Girls and Young Women’ and ‘Modulating the Impact of Critical Events in Early HIV Infection: Effect of ART Initiation and Alcohol Use (MERLIN)’.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data management plans
  • Design, develop, and maintain data mappings, data rules, and data transformations to populate data warehouse with source data.
  • Produce data and unit dictionaries, edit checks, derivations, standard, and custom reports Create, maintain and process SAS programs for standard studies that create: case report forms (CRFs), edit checks (clinical), data listings, and analysis data sets
  • Generate datasets needed for resolution of discrepancies
  • Communicate with local and external teams throughout the QC process to provide the most accurate and complete endpoint datasets needed for reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with study documents and departmental procedures
  • Verify completeness of study deliverables prior to release
  • Make, document and validate data programs, pipelines, distribution plans, and storage
  • In collaboration with Center IT, cultivate a plan to transfer existing laboratory data to central systems. Support investigators in the process of data transfer; develop SOPs for data sharing
  • Serve as a central point of contact for data requests from external partners; manage those requests in collaboration with laboratory investigators and ensure data sharing occurs according to specific project agreements.
  • Serves as a contact/resource for Process/Standards development and implementation including best practices in an effort to improve quality and streamline database build and data cleaning
  • Manage timely-quality deliverables for the study teams for assigned protocol/study(s)
  • Provide training and mentoring for new staff.
Qualifications:
  • BA / BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or Life Sciences
  • Advanced skill using SAS and working knowledge of other additional statistical and analytical software programs
  • 1-3 years’ experience as data architect, manager, curator, or analyst
  • 1-3 years database programming experience designing studies and data validation programming
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible, work well within a team environment, and be capable of meeting tight deadlines
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Spanish language skills a plus
