Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. What You'll Do:
- Design, install, and maintain a multi-tiered server infrastructure for the testing and deployment of applications
- Provide support to developers that are deploying applications into hosting environments
- Administer, maintain, and monitor IT systems across the enterprise
- Provide support on systems which include web servers, application servers, content management systems, and similar tools that support application development and delivery
- Assist build and deployment efforts in an enterprise wide environment
- Review build and deployment requirements to verify application hosting resources
- Evaluate, maintain and enhance system and web server security
- Deploy, upgrade, and maintain IT infrastructure based on approved SOPs
- Provide additional System Administration duties on Windows / Red Hat Linux, as required
- Develop, maintain, and follow company policies related to information technology, including Bioinformatics processes, data storage, network infrastructure, and computer services Improve predictability and reliability of releases and deployments
- Support development projects and work closely with teammates in other functional areas
- Work closely with various team members internally and externally for successful completion of various day-to-day tasks and ongoing infrastructure support projects
- Implement ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system and process enhancements
- BS in Computer Science or Information Systems, plus 7-10 years, MS plus 3+ years hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration (RedHat Linux, Cent OS)
- System and web applications administration experience
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or Ruby
- Experience working with development teams in an Agile Environment
- Excellent written communication, problem solving, and process management skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and managers
- Strong and Proven Customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work within a dynamic environment
- Experience with configuration automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt or Ansible. Ansible preferred
- Experience in DevOps concepts as applied to Continuous Integration/Delivery/Deployment
- Experience with Amazon Web Services or similar cloud technologies
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
- Experience with version control systems, Git preferred
