Job Description:
Li-San Wang’s Lab is hiring a Database Administrator to develop databases for managing high-throughput genetics and genomics data. The duties of the staff member include (1) manage and update the current genetics databases, (2) develop new databases for managing and sharing genome-wide association study and next-generation sequencing datasets on the cloud environment, (3) develop web-based user interfaces for accessing genetic data managed by NIAGADS and ADSP.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, bioinformatics, or other related fields and 1 year to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Skills and expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and SQL programming required. Familiarity with R, Python, C/C++, and/or web service development (frontend/backend) on LAMP stack or other common architecture preferred. Skills and experience with cloud computing environment, NoSQL databases, and/or genomics/genetics data management preferred.
